Ammo Baba Poem

On
July 29th 2001, the Assyrian Athletic Club of Illinoise in USA had an
Honorary Banquet in Chicago for the legendary Ammo Baba who was visiting the
United States on an invitation by the above club. In attendance was the
Canadian contingency which was made up of Layth Jato, The AAC of Toronto
President,
Isaac Y. Isaac
who played as a goalkeeper in the memorable 1955 team that played the Taj
team of Iran, Youel Sarkis (a former committee member of the Assyrian
Athletic Club of Baghdad) and Ninos Solomon from the Assyrian Society of
Canada.
At
the banquet, one of the most moving poems by the well known Assyrian poet
Mr. Ninos Nirari was a highlight that will stand for a long time to
remember.
